A 1970s-era hotel on Scottsdale Road in north Tempe is being proposed for conversion into a 142-unit apartment community called Tempe Oasis, retaining the footprints of existing buildings while adding new parking, landscaping, a pool, fitness center and a small restaurant. The project already has the required zoning, but parking remains a sticking point. The Tempe Development Review Commission is evaluating the proposal.
