Renting is The New American Dream

Renting has emerged as the preferred choice over homeownership in the new era of prioritizing flexibility. Entrata’s “The New American Dream” report found that 41% of renters do not consider owning a home as part of their “American dream,” preferring instead the flexibility and freedom that renting affords them. Surveyed renters prioritize paying off debts and investing in retirement rather than saving for a home. The report highlights that renters appreciate the sense of community, access to amenities, and financial flexibility that renting apartments offers, without the burdens associated with homeownership.
