The Arizona Department of Housing has reported a shortage of approximately 270,000 housing units in the Valley. In response to this crisis, Catholic Charities is constructing some much-needed affordable housing on Seventh Avenue in Phoenix. The building under construction is part two of a three-phase project called Acacia Heights, which will consist of 66 units. The Foundation for Senior Living, a sister agency to Catholic Charities, has already built the first phase of the project, providing 78 affordable senior housing units. The third and final phase of the project will be a 68-unit building designed to replace the current Catholic Charities office building on Seventh Avenue. The project is expected to be completed in the Fall of 2025.
