Governor Hobbes Vetoes HB2570, What’s Next For Arizona Homebuyers?

Governor Katie Hobbs vetoed HB2570 (Arizona Starter Homes Act), a bipartisan-supported bill introduced by Representative Leo Biasiucci intended to make homebuilding more efficient and affordable. Hobbs argued that the bill couldn’t guarantee affordable home prices and went too far in cutting much of the local control cities have over development. Nevertheless, Arizona lawmakers are staying hopeful and plan to work towards making a meaningful impact on the state’s housing crisis during this session.
