As Maricopa County’s population has grown, the number of eviction filings has also increased. In July 2024, the county recorded its third-highest number of evictions ever, with 7,903 filings. This represents a 30% increase compared to July 2019, before the pandemic, and an 8% rise from the previous month. The peak for evictions was set in January 2024, followed by October 2023. Notably, July 2024’s eviction count was just slightly higher than August 2005, which ranks as the fourth highest on record.
