A new redevelopment opportunity has emerged in downtown Tempe at the site of the former Tempe Performing Arts Center. The city of Tempe is seeking a developer for a high-rise mixed-use project at 124 E. Sixth St., a prime location just blocks from streetcar and light rail lines and Arizona State University’s main campus. The city is looking for experienced firms to create a project that includes rental housing units for all income levels, office space, and ground-floor commercial space. As the land is city-owned, there is potential to incorporate affordable housing, with a target of at least 20% of the units being designated as affordable.
