Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens announced a temporary moratorium on evictions and water shutoffs for residents in certain publicly funded and subsidized housing during the federal government shutdown. While landlords may receive only partial Housing Assistance Payments, they are prohibited from charging tenants for the missing federal share or issuing eviction notices. Property managers are encouraged to communicate with affected residents and establish documented payment plans.
