Build-to-rent developers continue to set their sights on the Phoenix metro, the hottest market for such housing, by catering to a wide range of demographics. Sunstone Two Tree will start building 320 homes in October near Northern Parkway and N. Sarival Avenue in Glendale, while Holualoa Cos. and Countrywalk Community Developers plan to develop 444 rental units within walking distance from historic downtown Buckeye. Sunstone Two Tree has a total of 1,500 rental units in the works with a focus on three- and four-bedroom units for young couples starting families and older couples wanting a “lock and leave” home. Holualoa, meanwhile, is targeting middle-class families and young workers with a product that has more density to keep the price down.
