A 90-year-old downtown Phoenix laundry facility has been sold to Chicago-based JRG Capital Partners for $8.5 million following years of debate over historic preservation. The City Council’s decision not to designate the property as historic cleared the way for a potential large-scale redevelopment on the Van Buren Street site, which features rare lamella roofs.
