Mesa Councilwoman Julie Spilsbury raised more than triple the amount of challenger Dorean Taylor in a recall election set for District 2. The recall effort, supported in part by Turning Point USA, centers on disagreements over past council votes and political endorsements. Both candidates are canvassing ahead of the Nov. 4 all-mail election, where voter turnout is expected to be low.
