Fixing Arizona’s housing crisis could create 126K jobs, study says

A new report from the Center for the Future of Arizona reveals that reducing housing costs could generate $13.6 billion in economic output and create more than 126,000 jobs statewide. The study found that if cost-burdened households could spend no more than 30% of their income on housing, families would have an extra $8,400 per year to put back into the local economy. Experts and policymakers agree that the key challenge now is how to make affordable housing development viable amid shortages, tariffs, and regulatory hurdles.
