Flagstaff Council Seeks To Boost Housing Density

The Flagstaff City Council advanced recommendations from a years-long land availability and code analysis project aimed at aligning city regulations with its 10-year housing plan and climate goals. Under the proposed changes, allowed densities would increase in all zones, with heights in the central business area rising to four to five stories under conditional use permits, up from two to three stories currently. The full code amendment process, including public outreach, planning commission hearings and two council readings, is expected to take roughly nine months.
