Home Sales in March Fell 5.9%, Biggest Drop Since 2022

U.S. existing-home sales dropped 5.9% in March, marking the biggest decline in over two years and the slowest pace for any March since 2009. High mortgage rates and home prices continue to make homes unaffordable for many buyers, leading to a sluggish market. Despite more inventory, demand remains weak, setting the stage for another year of low sales activity.
