Phoenix leaders are urging Arizona’s members of Congress to push for more federal housing vouchers, with Mayor Kate Gallego saying the numbers aren’t fair. Philadelphia, with a smaller population, gets triple the number of vouchers. Phoenix currently receives over 7,000 vouchers but more than 14,000 people are on the waitlist. All but two members of Phoenix City Council signed a letter to lawmakers pushing for them to reel in more vouchers.
