Maricopa County, in partnership with the city of Phoenix, is launching a new pilot program modeled after Texas’s eviction diversion program to identify at-risk renters earlier in the process and connect them with short-term financial help and resources before they lose their housing.
“The data is clear: preventative measures such as eviction diversion are far more effective and cost-efficient than relying on after-the-fact interventions to address displacement and homelessness,” Phoenix Vice Mayor Kesha Hodge Washington said.
