Arizona Bill Seeks Stronger Temperature Protections For Renters

Senate Bill 1608 would establish statewide indoor temperature standards for rental housing, capping heat at 82 degrees and requiring at least 68 degrees during extreme cold. The proposal would also bar certain evictions during dangerous heat waves and allow renters to terminate leases if landlords fail to maintain climate control.
