New Law Unlocks Housing Potential In Unlikely Places

A new adaptive reuse law is helping Arizona cities transform vacant strip malls, motels, and offices into much-needed housing, writes Arizona Multihousing Association President & CEO Courtney LeVinus. The law could spark $61 billion in economic activity and 150,000 new housing units, according to one estimate. Three Tucson projects show how forgotten properties can become revenue-generating, affordable homes for hundreds of residents.
