NexMetro Provides Fully Furnished Apartment for Mother and Daughter Exiting Homelessness

NexMetro Communities partners with Entryway, a 501(c)(3) workforce development organization that prepares job-ready talent for the multifamily housing industry. Entryway helps individuals experiencing housing insecurity and employment barriers gain skills and connect with entry-level multifamily careers.

NexMetro supports Entryway through clothing drives, hygiene, and interview kits, interview workshops, and financial contributions through the NexMetro Philanthropic Fund. CEO Josh Hartmann also serves on the Entryway Arizona Board.

The partnership demonstrates how employment can create a pathway from housing insecurity to long-term stability.

Megan’s story illustrates the impact. After leaving an unhealthy relationship while pregnant, Megan entered a shelter. Within 90 days, she completed Entryway’s program, including 40 hours of online training and certifications in Fair Housing and Sales, along with leasing training.

On her daughter’s first birthday, Megan moved into her own apartment and began working as a Leasing Consultant. With support from Entryway and NexMetro, she and her daughter received a fully furnished home, and NexMetro funded their first month’s rent.

NexMetro’s involvement reflects its commitment to servant leadership, demonstrating how financial support, volunteerism and professional expertise can create meaningful opportunities for individuals facing employment and housing barriers.
