P.B. Bell Celebrates 50 Years of Giving Back

P.B. Bell is celebrating its 50th anniversary, marking half a century of making a difference in communities across Arizona. This year, in celebration of this huge milestone, P.B. Bell launched “50 Ways We Show We Care” to highlight volunteer efforts the team is participating in this year to make a positive impact and give back to those in need. The most recent of these endeavors was a three-day volunteer event with UMOM.

UMOM is Arizona’s largest provider for families and single women experiencing homelessness. UMOM offers emergency shelters, job training, as well as meals, case management, career development, onsite childcare, and over 900 units of affordable housing in the Phoenix area. Its goal is to end homelessness by providing stability and independence, a mission P.B. Bell supports wholeheartedly. As a company, P.B. Bell has historically been involved with UMOM, and this experience provided the P.B. Bell team with a new opportunity to see, firsthand, what UMOM does in the community.

The P.B. Bell team spent three days volunteering at UMOM’s New Day Center’s campus, stocking shelves with essentials for local families. Participants either helped with the clothing closet restock or towel, linen, or tableware kit-building. Those who participated in the clothing closet restock helped hang clothing and stock shoes for the Threads of Hope Closet, which provides gently used clothes. When helping with towel, linen, or tableware kit-building, volunteers compiled essential hygiene, as well as housing and cleaning supplies for families.

P.B. Bell looks forward to continuing this momentum throughout its golden anniversary and is already planning volunteer events at Feed My Starving Children and charitable giving at its annual year-end party.
