Study: Affordable Housing Creates Jobs And Tax Revenue

An Urban Institute study of 45 affordable housing projects in Oklahoma found that construction supported over 4,000 jobs statewide and generated nearly $814 million in economic output. The projects are projected to add more than $186 million in additional economic activity, together surpassing $1 billion in total impact. The findings are aimed at helping policymakers understand the full economic and fiscal returns of affordable housing investment beyond just the social benefits.
