Tempe approves 15-story apartment complex near ASU that will replace Super 8 motel

Tempe unanimously approved plans for 289 new apartments next to Arizona State University’s Tempe campus at 1020 E. Apache Blvd. The 15-story tower will replace a Sleep Inn that had been functioning as transitional housing for people experiencing homelessness. The developers expect students will be the main target market.
